Check the visor. There is a wire to the lighted mirror and when it cracks, it shorts out that circuit.

Holy crapsicle, I haven't logged into this site in 2 years and this thread is still here. :) I had a manual boost controller valve from Ric Gillis. The T3 will push 20 psi easy with a decent IC. It made 206hp and 282 lb ft at the wheels with a fairly stock setup.

I had the switch act up in mine also.

A chip will never give you that much HP. Your car has the wheezy IHI turbo and heat soak prone intercooler. To make serious power, a T3 and a front mount are key. How much do you want to spend? A 3" downpipe, a K&N and a manual boost controller will REALLY wake that car up.

Could be an air leak at one of the intercooler connections or possibly a bad feul regulator. Do you have a feul pressure gauge? Also, check the rubber hose going to the FPR, they get old and collapse.

I'll take $1,000 for the car. I have everything you need except for the bumpers, 88 doors,tail light covers and a dual exhaust. The clutch setup I have is also cable, not hydraulic.

Check for loose connections in the air tract from air cleaner to throttle body. A loose hose clamp anywhere will do this. Make sure that the floppy hose between the air meter and turbo has no holes in it.

I have only raced it twice this year. Once in July and then again last night. Ran 14.4@94 on pump gas and street tires. There were two other modified TC's there. One ran 15.9 and the other ran 16.3.

All you need to do is add a few wires for the VAF and a few other things. Go to www.turboford.org and click links. Find the page for Ryan Modos and click it. He has the instructions there on how he did it to his 89. I have been in it and it goes like hell with a stock 88TC motor.

You can find the Garrett much cheaper, more like $50-$100 if you look around. No matter what, I always have a little in the TB.

They are fluid filled and are only available at the dealer for big bucks, around $140 each. Try to find them used.

The EEC tuner is an interface that hangs off of your car's computer. You can then go in and change fuel, timing, whatever you want with a laptop.

Be careful what they sell you. If it has hypereutectic pistons, you're screwed as far as modifying the car, ever. They will not stand up to the abuse the factory Ford forged pistons do. I would see of you can get forged Wiseco, TRW or J&E pistons if you have a choice. ------------------...
