    FPA Headres

As far as I know, FPA headers are only avaiable direct from FPA. They are also the only company that makes a header that fits correctly. Its a tight fit, in fact even with my FPA headers, I had to fab up 1/4" spacers for my motor mounts to help them clear the inner fenders. I guess this is...

    Clunking on bumps

Sorry not right by the ball joints or your right it will load them up. In between where the control arms mount to the frame and the ball joint mounting points is best. By lifting by the frame there are too many other factors involved to correctly diag the ball joints. One being the control arms...

    Transmission fault

With the wheels off the ground you can do this check on your own without the chance of you getting run over by your own car. LOL There is also no load on the transmission being that there is no wieght on the rear wheels, it may help with the diagnosis if your drive wheels turn in reverse without...

    cleaning convertible top

I wish I could remember the name of the stuff but its a pink jell that comes in a bucket and is used for cleaning live stock. Works amazing on all materials including leather. Got all the stains out of my vinal seats when I first purchased my car.

    Clunking on bumps

Could also be ball joints. Jack one side up at a time, using the control arm as the jacking point, you want it as close as possible to the ball joints, jack it up just far enough to get a bar under the tire. lift up on the bar and have someone watch the ball joints, there should be minimal...

    Transmission fault

Do you have the rear wheels off the ground? If not try jacking up the rear end and shift the car into reverse directly, does it go in reverse?

    '61 up date

Hey John Have you used those cfr rads before? They seem to be the cheapest on the market that I have seen. Just wondering of their quality? I believe that my stock rad is a 19". Is that measured from the fins or total outside? Just wondering which one would work best for my 66.

    3.8L V6 to a 7.5L V8

Anything is possible. Its all about the $$$$. I think I saw one of your birds with a big block in it on Pass Time. I think a good place to start is to find out the dimentions of the big block. Then compare them to the space available in your engine compartment. Different engine usually means...

    What's good mpg for 1966 315 hp 390?

One way to figure out just how well your car is running (other than the seat of your pants) is to put it on an exhaust anilizer. Most of the larger shops have them for emissions testing. They stick a probe into your exhast tips and receive info on things like CO, CO2s ect. These numbers will...

    94 bolt pattern

If you go to an aftermarket wheel companies web site like discount tire direct and type in your year and model of car, it will tell you your wheel specs.

    Heads for 94 4.6

Well the 4.6 is used in many Ford vehicles. Crown vics, mustangs and F series. In order to verify if they would fit you would have to look at the head bolt to block pattern as well as the exhaust manifold bolt pattern. To help you verify you may want to look at a aftermarket application chart...

interchange between tbirds and other fomoco

Like Harley stated your best bet is to contact a thunderbird resto place. You could call them simply stating your year and model and they would know right off the bat. Depending on where you live there are lots to choose from. Birds Nest in Org. or Larrys T-Bird/Mustang Parts in Concorde CA. to...

    Want some new rims

Still have the rear view mirror but I do take my time with changing lanes just to be safe. LONG shoulder check! LOL I actually will sometimes hit the throttle a bit and re check just to make sure no one is hiding behind that big blind spot in the side of that landau roof line.

    Surge Tank elimination

I know a lot of people have done this. I actually have an issue of street rodder that featured the FE motors as a write up and noticed many had eliminated the overflow tank. I think your best bet for a solid answer to this question is to go to another forum. I am a member of "club hot rod...

    Want some new rims

Yea the back looks allright, front sits a bit high. The issue I found is that these birds body work tends to make the car "Look" like its sitting low in the rear making the front look high. Just make sure before you do any cutting of the springs, to check your spacing on your inner fenders to...

    Alluminum Rads..

Just wondering if anyone has found a company that makes alluminum rads for our thunderbirds? I was looking at "B" Cool and they got them for the 50s and 80s but nothing in between. Also is there another Ford model that runs the same rad? Galaxie er something?

    What are these parts?

I know that drain tube is NOT for a 66 Thunderbird. Mine have a slight 45 degree bend molded into it and are not accordian shaped. I do agree that it is a drain tube though, there are also drain tubes under the front cowl where the wiper motor mounts.

Swapping in a different Brake Booster?

Yea I figure the mounting plate should be pretty easy. Flat square plate with four studs welded for the firewall and some holes for the hydroboost. A couple lines, T Fitting for the high pressure side of pump and I guess low side too? Hey a little side question to all out there, do you guys...
