    Thanks for the feedback. The carb floats have a fine tension spring mounted on the float shaft designed to keep the floats from bouncing around over rough terrain . When the tension spring is missing, the needle moves off it's seat and fuel immediately spurts into carb flooding the engine.

    Yes. Replace rear deck solenoid wth a know good one. Also. bottom edge of deck may be rubbing causing excessive load on the pump.

    Look for rub marks on the inside and outside of all tires. Possibilities: Wrong size tires --> rear axle is about to come out !

    If the two starters look the same I would conclude you have the right starter and something is cocked / broken inside the bell housing requiring dropping transmission to get eye balls in there. I suspect flywheel bolts are loose Art

    Off to transmission shop to drop transmission w/ bell housing to get in there to see problem , inspect for flywheel damage, and clean out any broken parts. 1st you could try: Remove starter end plate to pull off starter case to get more wiggle room on armature and drive gear. Hope like hell...

    Time to get an Appraaser in your area for current value and condition of all the systems on the car ( Brakes, suspension , engine etc. etc. ) . Look particularily at the frame under the Driver's Door and Passenger's Door for rust thru.
