hey guys, its been awhile. anyways, finally pulled the cover of the 68 and started tinkering with it again. heard a funny noise while turning to get it to start, and comes tp find out its water pump... is ready to toss the fan through the rad. I cant find one through a local parts house, summit racing wont ship one till june second.... yeah not thrilled. evidently this particlar pump was only made for one year according to one place, 2 from another and 4 years from another, and all parts numbers have be discontinued. does anybody know where i can get one, or a rebuild kit, or a place that rebuilds water pumps? and help would be greatly apericated.

In case anyone else wants to know, there's a seller on ebay, selling them for the best price for the '68+ T-birds with the 429. It's the far more expensive 429/460 water pump which sucks, but we need it, due to how it';s designed.
Search the bay for this and you'll find it:

NEW 1968 1969 Thunderbird Lincoln 69-70 Mercury Water Pump & 2-Gaskets 429 460

I had to replace mine, not because the pump had failed or anything, but because a previous owner had over tightened the bolt to...what is it, the power steering braket I think it is, that mounts to it? Anyway, since it's cast, there's no fixing it, so I just had to replace it.
