Trunk tail lights 89 T-bird

Ive noticed my trunk tail lights dont work , and I ve seen quite a few t-birds the same way, but a few that did work, does anyone now about this problem?

its not that they do or dont work, i think in 91, ford started making them functional, in 89-90 they were just reflectors

Thats what I thought, but theres bulbs in there?? SO I would think they should have to work? What do you think

The center reflector part on the 89-91 birds and cougars are simply that...a reflector. The bulbs you are seeing are for the corner section of the tail light.

92 and up is when they changed the design of the reflector (it wasn't continuous over the license plate) and that is when they got the internal LED's to allow them to light up.

Hey Ed, The bulbs you have are in the middle of the trunk right? Those are license plate light bulbs. There are no tail lights in your trunk unless somebody installed a later trunk lid.

If they started makeing the trunks with light up taillights in 91 then why dosen't my 93 have them?
