My center cap is loose in that it flops around when I turn the wheel. It even falls off occaisionally when it works itself loose. Anyone seen this one before? What's the fix? Should I try bending the ears in or out? This is pretty embarrassing.
Thanks - Bob

Pretty common, too. Mine does the same thing. I did what you said and simply bent the "ears" out and it seems to stay in place.
Still not as embarrassing as when my windshield wipers come on for no apparent reason.....always gets a laugh.

IF you have it lached into place properly and it's still loose, you can use a filler of some kind (rubber, paper, cardboard) between the steering shaft nut and the bottom of the cone..

So, you just kind of wedge it in there after installing the cap? Good idea. Thanks. Cardboard Shim: Ford Part No. CZ888-8888-88, right?

weatherstrip

Use some weatherstrip to attach or fill in the area right below the steering wheel cap. That way it appears to be filled in and looks fairly good, or at least better then an empty gap! I used the small black window weatherstripping where half of it has a sticky surface. jim
