pcv to carb hose

Mine was leaking so I made the mistake of thinking I could shorten it a little at the carb end and slip it back on. Well the opening at the carb end is flared a little, now the hose will not go on. Is it advisable to cap the carb inlet and pcv valve ? I see I can get the hose at some of the tbird places. Any other hose that may work on this?

I'm not aware of any other hose with the right bends. I say "go with the correct hose!". Isn't the 'Bird worth it?

Very much worth it. Just wondering if there was another hose out there. Patience isn't one of my strong points but this car helps with that also.

I received the hose from thunderbird hq but the end that goes to the carb would not slip on to my edelbrock card. The opening is 5/8 at the back of the carb. Mechanic friend of mine told me to beat on the hose about a quarter inch down from the opening (dont want to put a crack in the hose)while turning it. This sufficiently weakend the rubber so I could get the hose on.

You could also heat the hose by putting it in boiling water to stretch it.
While it is still hot, slip it over the fitting.

I tried that first. Left the end in water for about 3 minutes but didnt work.

Try a little WD-40 on the fitting and hose.

I put a length of larger dia hose on the carb fitting, about 2 inches long, then slid the hose from the pcv right into that. hose clamp at carb end and use a zip strip "clamp" where the hoses overlap. make sure the smaller hose fits real tight into the "coupler"piece. This works good for Edelbrock setup. EZ and simple. You could also use something gooey when connecting the two hoses but I didnt,
