Welcome to the forum and congratulations on scoring your first "little bird"! No doubt the 57 is the year to latch on to. It looks as if your car has been in storage for a while, and undoubtedly will need a careful going over before that first exciting drive.

There is a lot of knowledge out there and much of it is of varying quality. I would suggest that you locate a TBird club close to you for the answers to the questions you're going to have. You'll be able to find someone who knows how to rebuild and set up tea pot carbs, and could find someone who has some extra parts laying around that help you on your way. Most of the parts to fix anything on these cars are available, and some are very pricey.

This particular forum does not have a great deal of activity and can go for weeks without someone jumping on a particular thread with a suggestion. They may be out there watching but may not have the answer for you, so they don't comment. I find myself in that category frequently.

Once again, welcome! Here's hoping your ride turns out to be everything you hoped for! Good Luck!

Welcome

Just became a proud owner of a 55 Tbird. Already own a 02 Tbird. Also just joined too. Agree on the activity.

:agree Agree on the activity, but as another noob, I can say I've gotten some good feedback on my requests for info. Also just inherited a '57 and have a bit to learn about some of the unique features of these beautiful classics.
Aloha
