Life guard edition

Does anyone know the meaning if a life guard edition sticker on the inside of the door. Is this significant to any aspect of the car or value on a 57 tbird

I don't know anything in particular about the sticker, but Ford used "Lifeguard technology" a lot in it's advertising of 56 and 57 Fords. It was pretty much the first time an automaker attempted to make their cars safer - breakaway steering wheels, optional seatbelts, optional padded dashboards, ?sun visors?. I wasn't aware that there was a sticker that they used, and I've never seen it on my 56 t-bird.

I've always hought that the "lifeguard edition" referred to the door latches that were designed to NOT allow the doors to come open in the event of a crash.

Its a round sticker that goes on the door jam. Its reflective so rear approaching cars can see your open door in the dark.
