How to replace instrument cluster in an 88?

We are restoring and modding an 88 T-bird. Has anyone changed out their standard digital instrument cluster with a cluster from an 5.0L T-bird Sport. Want to have all the instruments work, especially the tach.

I'm not sure what "sport cluster" you are talking about, but on my 86, I replaced the entire dash with autometer gauges. I extended the ribbon wire on the speedometer and moved it to where the clock sits.
One important thing is that the amp gauge completes the circuit for the alternator, so if you delete it or replace it with a voltmeter, make sure to connect those wires.

since i have a V6 the tach isnt accurate
