Hello,
Ok So I picked up a 1964 Thunderbird. It has a rebuilt engine and they have put a Holley Carb. The car runs strong and amazing. The only thing is that we cannot figure out how to get the existing throttle linkage to work with the Holley carburetor. Can someone please direct me in the right direction on this topic how I can take care of this.

The Carburator is a Holley 1850-5

linkage

maybe you could send a couple pictures of what you have there and then show where the problem is. I had a holley on '65 390 and the linkage was just fine. Then changed it over to an edlebrock and it worked just fine. did add a light weight brake pedal return spring off a mazda or something to provide positive throttle return.

Bondobird,

I just helped my son rebuild the engine in his 1965 Bird, 390 engine, 4bbl carb & auto transmission, but now he’s having difficulty figuring out where all the throttle linkage, brackets and springs go. By chance do you have any photographs you can share of the throttle linkage so he can get the car safely back on the road - he lives in Hawaii, and I in Colorado. We appreciate any help you may provide. Thank you

Do you have a factory Shop Manual for the car? For my '64, the best reference for that is a diagram of the Throttle Linkage in the Automatic Transmission section.
