I need some help guys.I took the cap and rotor off my 87 3.8 and have to take that shaft out to replace the pickup for the ignition module.I don't want to break the thing and have asked and searched my head off.Thanks

I think you have to pull the gear from the bottom of the shaft, there is a roll pin in the gear that you have to remove then the shaft shoudl slide out but be patient there may be some oil build up on the shaft that wont let it slide out so use lots of zep or P.B. blaster hope I helped and I am looking forward to seeing you on the fox t-bird forum.
