Could anyone give me a ballpark figure on having the engine on my 65 coupe rebuilt. Have no idea what should be a fair price, but want to have that 390 purring. Thanks!
Do you want a "turn-key" job? Meaning someone else does everything. Expend to spend $1500 to $2000 depending what all you want done (or what it needs).
I would agree. I have been told that to have my 64's 390 done I should expect to pay 1500-3000 depending on what I want done and the like. I may pull the motor my self and haul it to someone and haul it back and put it back in on my own. I would think that will help cut the cost down.
Thanks guys! I called a place near me & they wanted 4,500 to 5,300 to rebuild the engine. I thought this was kind of steep. but never having one rebuilt I didn't know. Now I know what price I should be looking at. I do want the whole thing done without me doing anything. Thanks again!
What a site Joe....They have good prices on their engines. It might be easier to buy one of those reilt engines, use some old parts to complete the engine and still save some money. Great prices on cylinder heads as well.
