I recently purchased a 66 tbird and am going to restore it. One question I have is the original color of the car is silver rose with Parchment/Burgundy interior. The paint that is on the car right now appears to be original and very dull but from the color I can see on the car I am not too fond. I have been looking online to see if I can find a picture of one restored in the silver rose color but have not located one yet. So I can get a better idea of how the color is supposed to look.

If anyone can help me my questions are does anyone have a picture of one of these cars in this color?

If I change the color of the car will that hurt the value?

From what I've seen so far online the silver rose was a special order color, how rare is this color (if at all)? If it's a rare color would it be best just to keep it the same?

color code..

Have you tried looking up the color at your local automotive paint supply store? Or any places online to get a better idea of what the color will look like. And as far as the value of the car, anytime you change something to something that is NOT original, you generally will see less of a dollar value. Changes typically decrease value, but also depends on the way you look at it to me. Looking at a car with a dual resivor master cylinder conversion thats correctly done will to me as a person mean more than a dollar value, but to someone thats lookin at a car and its originality, that would take away from its dollar value. just an example, as would disc conversion, etc, etc. hope this helps, and enjoy the car.

Great site for paint color

I too have been trying to decide what color to paint my 66. It is now brittany blue, but originally was ivy green. Not interested in either of these colors and am stripping the car to bare metal, so can go any color I want.

I looked and looked, but couldnt find examples of paint colors on a car until I found this website: PaintRef.com

You can spend hours on this site and it is very interesting to see the same color through many years and different models, with different names.

BTW, I decided on tahoe turquoise and have had some paint mixed and will shoot a small panel to make my final decision.
