I have a '90 SC that ran well until the last time I shut it down. Now it cranks but makes no attempt to start. The fuel punmp seems to be operational. My usual mechanic says that he can't diagnose it and doesn't know anybody who can. Somebody other than a dealer must have some ideas. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You might want to change your fuel filter, it only costs a few bucks, and might have a blockage. I have a '93 with 210,000 on it and this is the first time I changed it, but it started hesitating, You might also want to check your Fuel Injector nozzles, they might be gummed up. If you hapen to ge it started, dump some Fuel Injector cleaner in the tank with premiun gas for a few tanks, that cleared up my problem.

Does the shift light stay on while cranking. If so then the CPS is bad. I would check the CPS in any case if they go they will not throw an error code and will look just like a no spark/ignition problem.

Check www.sccoa.com and do a search. This is a fairly common SC problem.
