I am restoring a 66 convertible. The tacking rail I have is rusted out. Is there any other options out there? Any ways around this. I have called several places that reproduce these, but they don't do the 66. There is a dip and a curve in the center of deck lid and package tray that they cannot reproduce. Any suggestions would be great. I have thought about attaching Tacking strip directly to package tray without a rail. Don't know if this would work.

Thanks

Tacking strip

Oddly enough, I have stripped the top off of my 66 and was wondering where to buy that tack strip. It is 5/8" wide and my upholsterer has some but it is only 1/2". Probably ok, but I would like to have something that fits into the channel tight like the original.

The metal channel is a real piece of work with the turns and bends in the center. Luckily mine is in perfect shape, just wirewheel it and paint with por15. Probably due to the fact that it is a CA car since 1966 and garaged since 1983.
