Can't find a picture of this anywhere. What side does the rubber seal that goes between the upper fan shroud and the radiator on a 57 eet stapled to?

Does the tab of the seal go on the bottom side of the shroud and stapled or does it lay on the top side of the shroud (visible) and get stapled down.

I understand that the square groove fits unto the lip of the radiator top tank.

Thanx fo rthe advice

Tom R,

The fan shroud seal is mounted on top of the upper shroud. The "U" shaped channel points downward between the shroud and the radiator. As usual, the staple first goes through the rubber, then through the metal shroud where it is peened over on the underside of the shroud.

The way part of your question is worded leads one to believe you're trying to fit the seal channel ON the short flange of the shroud. The entire channel is forward of the short flange. The objective is to seal the gap between the radiator and the shroud for greater fan efficiency. (Yeah, right!)

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.

Thanx - Appreciate the guidance. Installed it yesterday and boy what a wind tunnel it created.!!! (yeah right!)

Did play with the dwell and carb settings and seems to be purring nicely now.

Hope all all is well with you and yours!
