Looking for a 56 bird to restore. Had one lined up this week but deal fell through. Budget limit to 12K. Want to do frame off and build an acccurate restoration car to drive. I would consider a partially restored car up to 20k.
Can any one help? I am watching E-Bay.

I don't know where you are located but there was a very clean 56 Tbird in Costa Mesa, CA about a month ago for $20K. It was an original survivor car and looked unmolested. If you would like I can try to get some more details on it.

Thanks for the info. I live in western massachusetts but would not rule out a good buy 3000 miles away. Would appreciate any help.

The one out here appears to be gone. I also knew of a decent 56 Tbird in Eaton, CO but it appears to have sold also. I took a look on collectorcartraderonline.com and came up with a few results that may match what you are looking for.
1956 TBird in Long Island, NY
1956 TBird in Savannah, GA
1956 Tbird in Watertown, MN
There are also a few good looking projects that are 55's and 57's if you would consider on that website.
It is somewhat ironic, I live in SoCal and bought my Bird in northern Mass. :)

Thanks for the reply. I found and purchased a 56 bird on Friday 12/2. Found it about 30 miles from here. Its in great shape. Has been stored in a barn since 1978. Engine was rebuilt just before storage. Except for floor, the interior is like it was 50 years ago. Dash and seats are like new. It has only surface rust underneath. This is a project car. Plan to do a frame off. It will be perfect in a few years..
