I was visiting a local classic car dealer the other day. There was a '55 that had an interesting story behind it according to the dealer. First of all, I drive a '59 bird so I am no novice when it comes to these cars. The '55 looked very much original. The dealer said it was a very rare car that was assembled in Mexico with a Chevy motor. He went on to say that this was very common back in the day because Ford could not keep up with the supply of Ford motors for the 1955 year. He told me since this car was one of 209 produced it would go for $35K. Wanted to run this by the people who would know. There couldn't be any truth to this or could there be. Thanks

Take notice whether or not that Chevy engine has an integral oil filter in the left rear corner like the Bird had. The '55 Chevy 265 didn't have one! It would be worth it for me to travel 1000 miles just to see this turkey.
