    Whos spline is it anyway?

Moved the 68 today and heard a pretty good bang and knock from the rear end. Jack it up and the rears are locked together like it had a spool in it, so something in the diff let go, anyway was wondering if anybody happens to know what spline it would be. I figure being a car would be 28 but...

    Headers....429

Hey ya'll, kind of an odd question, but a question none the less. Anybody know who would make headers that would fit a 385 series (429-460) in a 68-71 bird? Might be pickin up a 71 soon with no motor and droppin my 460 in it to give to my uncle, and I'd rather spend the couple extra buck for the...

    What is it worth?

dont quit! Agreed, it takes time. Mine isnt as pristine as gemman's bird, but its still the princess of the bunch. Mine is a 68, pretty soild, needs work, but its a runner. It was stored for over 20 years, the gentleman was planning on restoring it, kept moving it from place to place till he...

List of parts worth pulling and saving?

BIG stuff pull the rear end, considering its a 9inch, and I'd pull the motor and trans, a decent fe (390-428) that still turns is work a couple of bucks itself, either for one to build up, a core, rebuild, or sell to someone looking to get there hands on the harder and harder to find fe engine...

    New to the game

pleasure or profit? Local paper, clist, ebay would be decent places to start, but as far as return (profit trying to flip it) all depends on what you pick it up for, and who you sell it to, but unless you pick up a screaming deal, put no or very little into it, and can sell it with a good...

    Car Color

color code.. Have you tried looking up the color at your local automotive paint supply store? Or any places online to get a better idea of what the color will look like. And as far as the value of the car, anytime you change something to something that is NOT original, you generally will see...

Vin and data plate! please help!

The drivers door on my 68 has been replaced, the paint is flaking off the inside of the door revealing a light blue color, which according to the vin decoder is turquise, and the car is black, with tan interior. Why do 66 down birds hate 67 birds

Maybe i'm a whore?lol I personally own a 66 and a 68, but over the years, me and the family have had a 71, 79, 86, and an 88, and have loved them all. Maybe I'm just a whore like that, lol. But personally I dig birds of all ages, at least till 89, when they started looking like jelly beans, like...

    '64 with a v10?

Not original... I assumed that it was the orignal engine, which would be a 390 0r a 428, both of the FE series. As far as putting it back together right, do some reading up on engine building, it is about proper method, measuring and common sense things, like taking your time and double...

    '64 with a v10?

yeah and no... I love the idea of being original, and thats a cool out side the box idea, but the 390 fe is an amazing engine, thats why u dont see many swaps in these cars. The 390 is enough to push these cars around nicely in stock form and will light the tires on command and if that aint...

66 wanta be - Many questions

Anything that you would look at with buyin a used car? Does everything work? Is it in good shape, does it look like its going to need anything, whats original, whats replaced, and does the work on the car look like its been done properly, or has it been hacked up? And as far as value goes, its...

    steering

Also make sure they do a complete alignment, because there are alot of shops out there that do a "4 wheel alignment" but really only do a "toe and go" only adjusting the toe if its out to keep the tires wearing well. GRANTED most of the time that was the only thing some of the vehicles needed...

    Speed Bump

If my memory serves me correctly, the ride height specs are listed on thunderbird ranch's website. They are listed under concourse specs, with a little looking you'll find them and the way they are mearsured, I'd imagen they are the closest thing that you'll find.
