    Headliner

Thanks, Gordie, Mine is a base coupe. No overhead console. The headliner has bows. It's stapled 3/4 the way around. I was told I might have to pull the windshield because the front tucks into a slot behind the windshield, and the windshield seal helps hold the headliner. The one in it now is...

    Headliner

Anyone ever replace a headliner in a '66? Do I have to pull the windshield or back glass, or both? Thanks!

    Relays

Thanks, Headache Guy, Found the problem. I have a young guy helping/learning at the same time. Not his first time helping, but. He had the sealed beams on the wrong plugs. He thought the 3rd prong on the one sealed beam was for another app., and plugged into the 2 prong connector. Same with the...

    Relays

Terry, Does a '66 have a relay or separate relays for the headlights? I have high beam, but, no low beam. Replaced the dimmer switch, no help. I have a schematic, it shows no relays. Thanks

    Seal installiation

Need some info on installing a couple seals, 1- The Hood to Rad support seal. Looking from the front, does the seal go in front or behind the bracket? 2- The cowl seal. Does the seal lay on top of the lip on the cowl panel, screws thru the seal first, then thru the cowl panel into the body? 3-...

    Missing piece

I was told those 2 bolts I'm referring to hold the nut plates in place for the wiper motor and cover. Apparently, the nut plates were installed up the line from where the motor and cover were installed during assembly. Huh.

    Missing piece

Thanks, Terry I thought I might have tossed something I needed. I was putting the cowl panel on without what ever went there. It runs and drives the same.

    Missing piece

Finally after 2 years I'm putting my '66 back together. Everything new or rebuilt, as a driver. Paint and everything. Behind the wiper motor cover, under the cowl panel, are 2 bolts. Something was bolted there, but for the life of me, I can't remember or find anything amongst the parts pile that...

    '66 rear valance

Sent you a email, Bob. Thanks!

    '66 rear valance

I've seen that site. Rough I don't need. Mine's not rough, just twisted at the ends from some backyard body men the previous owner knew. I'm going to check with Bob's Birdhouse, if nothing, my body guy said he could salvage mine. I'm not restoring, just rebuilding. A wrinkle here and there won't...

    '66 rear valance

Terry, It's going to have to come off a parts car. There are some around, but people don't want to cut the quarter panels to get one. The easiest way to salvage one.

    '66 rear valance

Terry, I just received a quarter panel from Classic. I asked when I ordered, no one makes an aftermarket rear valance.

    '66 rear valance

Thanks, Terry, I need the one under the bumper that ties the rear quarters together.

    '66 rear valance

Looking for a rear valance for a '66 bird. Mine could be salvaged, but less time consuming to replace. Close enough, I'll pick up. I'm in southcentral Pa.

    Engine and trans installation

Sorry about the spelling in the above post. Should be "yourself" and "as one". Next time I'll open the good eye. I'm working with a 428/c6 setup. I'm guessing the tranny mounts on other trannies are slotted also. The throttle stop bracket bolts might be a bear, depending how big your hands are...

    Engine and trans installation

Overlord, If you're working by youself, like me, put the tranny in first. Much easier and safer, working on widow makers (ramps). I put mine in less than an hour. The trans mount is slotted to allow you to set the tranny on a floor jack, start the tranny mount bolts half way in, then slide the...

    Droopy doors

I really can't say just now. I'm out of town til Thursday evening. When I get back, I'll look at my '66. I don't know if you held the weight of the door when opened, you could possibly use a long punch and change the bushings' one hinge at a time.
