hello everyone!
I noticed the forum hasn't been moving too much, and I also have had this question I've been wanting to ask. I was wondering what wheels and tires people had on their t-birds. maybe it's just because I look at people's wheels and tires for a living, I'm not sure, but here's my list.

245/45 zr17 Falken ZE-502 tires all around with 17x8 American Racing Torq-Thrust II's :1978 Thunderbird

225/70 r15 Hercules HP4000's on factory 15 inch turbine wheeels :1979 Thunderbird (dad's car that am building)

215/70 r15 BFG Revelation touring tires on factory 15 inch "swirl" wheels :1990 Thunderbird

what do you have?

Lee

I've got the factory turbine wheels on my '78 TL. The tires are crap, though... the left rear one leaks down to 0 in a week, so every weekend I go to work on the 'bird I have to pump it back up. Tires are on my to-do list once I get my engine swap done, so I'd be interested in hearing what other folks use.

I also have the stock Turbine wheels on my 79 TL. Currently, I am looking for some slotted mags. I love the look of the Turbines, but they just are not wide enough! With a good set of slotted mags, they can be nice and wide...and still look awesome.

Factory turbines with factory spec tires for pretty. Big fat vintage ARE turbine-type wheels for fun. Never looked at the tire sizes on them. I describe them as BIG AND FAT. 10" wheels on the rear, 8" up front.

I use Factory Turbine Wheels with Correct Center Caps. For tires,I have BF Goodrich "Advantage Plus" White Walls, P215/75R15 100S M&S.

The whole combination looks sharp and very factory!

I use the slotted mags of my cougar with whatever is cheap from salvage for tires :D and I have all 4 centers plus a few. if anyone needs some centers for these wheels for a t-bird let me know I have 2 full sets. thanks Graham

I have p255 60 R 15 BFG Radial T/A's on all four corners of my Cougar, riding on 8.5" (as I recall) wide American Racing white wagon wheels. It looks good with my car, since it is red with white trim and a white top. I love my tire/wheel combo! The braking and handling and look are all substantially improved over stock. A word of warning, though; these tires will rub *just barely* on the back corner of the front wheel wells if the wheels are turned just right, and I would reccomend stiffer front springs so that the tires don't rub the inner fender when going over big dips and bumps, but neither of these problems are a big deal.
