Many years ago, in the 70's my mother got a license plate issued which was GS-747 and had it on her 68 Bird, later I was able to get it transferred to my 73 Bird. As it turns out my mothers name was Gloria, and mine is Gary and our last name starts with an "s" so it was to us 'personalized plates. and the size of the car was kind of like a Jumbo Jet, so the 747 fit as well. The GS was kind of the luck of the draw as they came from Genesee Coyunty, hence the GS

Plate styles changed, but I hung on to those numbers, and now again that plate graces my 73 Bird as historical plates, proper for the car......

Here in New Zealand we can only get a maximum of six numbers/letter on our vanity plates, however so does Oregon.

I plan to get a set of NZ plates made that have the same layout as the Oregon ones and then I can leave the Oregon ones in place!!!
