Hello! I've always been a fan of old fords but now I actually have one! I just got a 61 Tbird from my uncle. Of coarse it needs Work! lots! It is all original EXCEPT some one painted the bottom half red and tried to get rid of the teal interior by recovering the seats and headliner and painting most of the plastic red. The dash has cracks in it. There is a dent in the passenger door and a tiny rust spot on the corner of the hood, it has the tilt away steering wheel but i have issues getting it to go into drive and reverse sometimes, As with a lot of old cars while he was doing this my uncle ran out of extra cash and its not done. Now for the good! the motor and tranny are original to the car and have been completely gone through! My uncle drove it home from the shop then a few months later thought he could replace the dist. and then it wouldn't start any more. I Just went and adjusted the points and the thing runs better than my 2004 forester! I would like to put this car back to stock as possible but want to replace the WHOLE interior (as close to factory as possible)! Oh yeah also need to replace the rear window regulators and glass. I dont have the money to do this all at once so I was wondering what a good starting point would be. Should I start with the carpet and work my way up or start with the roof and work my way down? And any tips for good new/used parts would be very helpful! can post pictures if needed!
