seat belt timer

have a 1966 bird.i need to change the seat belt timer. i have one and was told right side of steering wheel under dash. was told to follow brake pedal. can't seem to find it. anybody else change it and can tell me where it is:cry

I would say "left side of the steering wheel". It's actually mounted on the lower edge of the dash panel; held in place by only one screw. The electrical plug has the two slots for the two switch blades in a "T" formation.
