The previous owner removed the chrome trim from the front fenders.
I want to replace them but I don’t know how to get to the chrome trim between the front wheel and the door. I can’t get inside the front fender to place the bold.

Anyone an idea?

Removing the side-impact molding that sits between the front wheel and the door is a two step-process and relatively easy if you follow the steps:

1) Remove the fender louvers in order to access the molding screws. CAREFUL here. If you try to pull the fender louvers out, you will (guaranteed) break off both plastic studs. Here's how to remove the louvers without breaking the studs: remove the black, plastic splash shield (three bolts) that sits in the bottom rear portion of the wheel-well. Get on the ground and slip your hand through the opening and gently tap the two plastic studs with a plastic or wooden hammer until the louver comes out.

2) Look inside the hole where the louvers was and you will see the screws that hold the side-impact moldings in place. Unscrew the small nuts. There will be one or maybe two screws that you will have to remove from the wheel-well chrome molding as well.

With the screws out and the nuts off, the impact molding will come right off.

Keep me posted on how you're doing. Best wishes, Tim, Florida

I’m not so good in technic English and i don’t know what you mean by : “that sits in the bottom rear portion of the wheel-well”.
But I will look and maybe I see what you mean.
But first I have to get better. I got the flu for a few days now and it’s not getting better.
So I hope that I can check your answers I a couple of days.

Thanks.

Send me your email and I will send you pictures of the splash guard that you first must remove to access both the fender louver and then the side-impact moldings. Tim
