Will the oil pan on my 62' 390 "drop out" or slide off when unbolted, the sump is in the front and I'm hoping i can do this without moving the motor or what not. Any ideas, my current pan has a 90 degree gash in it... just love these low cars

The engine does not need to be removed to replace the oil pan. It is necessary to raise the engine and use a block at the engine mount area to support the engine. The crankshaft will need to be turned so that the counterweights will clear the pan as it moves forward. BUT, the oil pump will need to be unbolted and drop into the oil pan before the pan can be lowered. Then, of course, the pan will need to be positioned under the engine, the oil pump bolted back in place before the pan bolts are inserted. :p
