hello all,

my name is Bas Seip, and living in Spijkenisse (netherlands). and have sinds one week now an 1994 4.6 V8 Thunderbird.
first i was an volvo driver. but since the american car, totaly T-Bird nuts:driving
ive trade my car for the bird, and payd 2000 euro for it. exclusive the old volvo was the price 2900 euro.

only one problem, and that's check engine. ive looked at every single hole on the bird. every liquid i could find checked. bud nothing.
the car drives normal. but when its too long in D or sometimes in Neutral. the engine cut off.
so what could be the problem?

this is my bird:

Older post but figured I would say Hi and see if I can help...

Ah you are not far from Amsterdam right? Anyway issue could be a number of items - really need to get hooked up to a computer to get the trouble codes to start troubleshooting ....as a starting point and cheap to swap are gas cap and IAC (idle air control) valve. Could be crank or cam sensor but they would not cause a check engine light. One concern is quality of fuel - saw this with a friend while I was in Sweden last summer - car ran like crap but when we added a octane boost and water removal additives - ran smooth as glass after a tank full.

When it runs does it run strong, even at high speeds?
