I am trying to remove the light switch and the fan control switch from the dash.

The manual tells me to remove the control knob and shaft by pressing the spring-release button on the switch housing with knob in off position. I can't figure out where the spring release button is on the switch housing. Can someone give me a better description.

Also, I am trying to remove the fan control knob and the manual gives no information. I could use some description.

There was a thread on this subject in March of this year. Look up the thread titled: Head light control. It was opened by Brian and it has all the info you should need.

Blower Knob: There is a set screw on the knob at the 6:00 position. (opposite the pointer) This set screw may be either a hex or slot head.

The little bugger is hard to find, But if it's like all the other Ford switches it's on top. Run your finger along the top of the switch till you feel a little button, push down.

Thanks, I'll keep feeling for it. I keep thinking that someone is telling me there is just no need to remove the switch. However, I want to also remove and clean the dash plate.

Climbed under the dash during lunch and found that little button. The first problem is my switch was assembled upside down. That makes a little difference.

Anyway, I can now complete the disassembly.

Thanks for the help! I'm sure I'll have other issues in the rebuild process.

All, I had the same problem finding the "button". Mine is in the middle of the wire connections on the bottom side of switch. Thanks for your help.
