So I'm working on getting my tail light/turn signal issues resolved but I'm not sure what is the right amount of lights that should be lighting up. Can someone confirm the following:

Number of lights when the brake is applied

Number of lights when the headlights are on

Number of lights that should be sequencing when the turn signals are on

Thanks for the info!

Ben

The simple answer is, all of them. Mine is a 69, not sure what you have, but I think all 67-69 function the same. Three lights for each side and they all should light up for brakes, lights and turns. The original sequencer is very problematic, so if you can, you should try to find a electronic replacement. There may be other places, but here is one I've used Cougars Unlimited Home Page.
Much better system, but it's not cheap. I replaced the electronic sequencer, but the directional relay malfunctions for left turns. It needs replaced as well, but I'm not willing to spend the extra $100 right now.

Thanks for the info! I replaced both units in the trunk and the relay under the dash but I'm still having problems. I'm going to do the steering column switch next and if that doesn't work, the guy from Cougars Unlimited wants me to send my oem trunk units in for them to replicate. Hope I get it figured out soon since I love sequential tail lights.

I wouldn't think the turn signal switch would have anything to do with brake lights or headlights. Mine did go bad, but just the turn signals were affected. As I recall there are more wires in there than the standard switch, so who knows.
