On my 77 tbird the left front parking light is allot dimmer than the one on the right. Checked the grounds and all the wires, all look good. Both the tail lights and turn signal lights in the rear also appear to be awfully dim. The side marker lights and the dash lights work just fine. Any one have any ideas? Thanks Dan.

Dim Marker Lights

Hi Dan:

I posted an answer to your question last week, I think, but it was never posted by this website; don't know why. So, sorry for the tardiness in response. Your description of the problem sends me no real clues as to what precisely in wrong.

Dim lights usually mean low voltage, reduction of voltage in the system somewhere, caused by dirty or rusty connections. But since you have dim lights both in the front and the rear, the culprit likely exists somewhere in between.

Just might be a faulty headlight switch. Most of your lighting system runs through it. You might consider removing it and cleaning all the terminals of just replacing it with a new unit: check e-bay for new units or good used ones as well.

Keep us posted. All the best.

Thanks Tim

Looks like Ive got a challenge on my hands. It could be awhile before this issue gets figured out. I'll just have to keep looking until find the problem. The headlight switch is a good starting place, Thanks again. Dan.

headlight swtich

Dan:

Don't know if you've attempted to remove the headlight switch before, but it is a simple procedure, relatively speaking. Don't hesitate to ask if you need assistance. Best wishes, tim
