I recently sent my 312 c.i. motor and transmission to JASPER ENGINES to be rebuilt to factory specs. They told me they will not rebuild it with warranty due to a couple very small hairline cracks found in the webbing above the crank journals durring the magnuflux inspection. :sad

Has anyone ever heard of this before with the 312? The thing ran good before I sent it in to be freshened up, so I'm alittle confused!! Will these minute cracks affect a motor that is driven 1500 miles per year. I could see if I was building a performance motor or driving it 15,000 miles per year. Maybe they just can't warranty it for the 75,000 mile warranty they consider standard.

If I can't use it, does anyone have a block or short block laying around they want to sell??????

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!
