Stockinteriors.com has nylon loop carpet for about $50 less than one of the major Tbird suppliers. Has anyone used them? Curious about the quality.

Second question - the dash on my 65 has a crack about 6" long in front of the passenger seat. Stock interiors has a cap for $168 that is supposed to cover it. Anyone ever use one of the caps, and if so, were you happy with the results?
thanks

As I understand it, most, if not all, carpets for 64-66 Birds are made by ACC. They bought out their major competitor a few years ago. They used to make a nylon/rayon blend called 80/20 as well as a nylon carpet, one a loop and the other a cut pile. In a lot of cars back then, the cut pile was a deluxe option, but I think the Birds only came with a loop.
I know ACC still makes both types, but I don't think they still use the 80/20 material. The cut pile is more expensive by about $20.
It's often hard to find out what you are buying from the description, but the carpet sold by Stock Interiors is ACC, same as most suppliers.
Just make sure you are comparing the same material and pile.
Hope this helps

One carpet can look similar to stock. However, a low quality carpet might not have the best dye lot, will fade fast. Suggest you go with best quality, check carpet fiber content.

I am an interior designer who over the years specified 100s of thousands yards of commercial grade carpet, about 50% custom died. Recently had new carpet installed on my lower 1966 door panels. Buy best quality now or you might regret it in a few years.
