64 pulls to left

Car is safe at low speeds but on hwy it is dangerous. Car has only a little more than 8,000 on it. I have owned it 2 yrs and have put 2,000 on it with no steering problems until last week. If diving and you shut off motor car pulls more to the left harder which makes me think front end is out of alignment and power steering (while engine is running) is trying to recenter front wheels. If you start car with wheels off ground steering does not move even while revving motor. I have gone through front end and nothing is lose or shifted. Had Skippy check alignment at tire store and all is good, his remarks where I will set the toe in and everything will fall in place. (lol) I showed him how to set castor as he did not know what to do (did not adjust caster). Even though car has 8,000 on it now I have rebuilt every component and replaced all seals and gaskets on everything . (motor, transmission, power steering pump, hoses yada yada yada) I have not touched the steering box, about the only thing I did not rebuilt. The price of a rebuilt box is VERY expensive now. As a last resort I am hoping to take it to another shop that only does front end work. I know you can adjust gearbox spool to center steering but can you loosen gearbox enough to do it in car without complete removal? Sorry for the long dissertation. Steve in St. Louis
