64 and 66 Cruise-o-Matics

I bought a 64 parts car to use the cruise-o-Matic in my 66. The 66 came from the factory with a cruise. After pulling out the trans from the 64 the flex plate is not the same after looking in the book, Also the starter is different. The 64 has a very long bendix shaft compared to the 66. Is a 64 Cruise able to be used in a 66?

I'd suggest using the 1964 torque converter housing if there is any difference.
