My '57 T-Bird came without the original horns or brackets. I got reproduction horns from NPD, which with a little modification, are going to work out very nicely. I got one NOS horn bracket on eBay and it was said to be a right-hand bracket. Then I ordered a reproduction left-hand bracket from COSCO. When it arrived it was exactly like the one I bought on eBay, instead of being its mirror image. I found a picture of a pair of '57 horns with brackets attached on eBay (picture attached). I have no reason to believe the brackets were ever removed from the horns and switched left to right, so I suspect they are in the right configuration. The COSCO on-line catalog has a picture (attached) showing their left and right brackets (labeled as such in the picture) and they don't agree with the picture of the pair of horns and brackets I got from eBay. So, can anyone tell me the proper orientation of the horns and brackets on a '57? First of all, which way should the open bell part of the horns face--toward the vehicle centerline or toward the outer sides of the car? Which way should the hemispherical cover be oriented--on the top or on the bottom? Which way should the bracket face--are the holes that mount to the panel above or below the holes that mount to the horn?
