56 hardtop

I need a hardtop for a 56 t-bird. Mine blew off while towing it to a shop through north Florida. I did not notice it right away (my view to the trailer was partially blocked), by the time I went back to look for it, it was gone. It must have shattered the fiberglass because the latches around the deck were still attched along with some of the fiberglass. Where can I get a good deal on a used top? does anyond make a good reproduction?

That's got to be the ultimate bummer! Now for more bad news: There are no repro hardtops. Good ready-to -use tops are in the $2500-$3000 range. The starting price for a top with all the trim, clamps, rear window etc. can be as low as $1200-$1500. But, they usually require all the cosmetic items such as paint, headliner, etc.

Be very wary of any "Hot Deals". It may be just that!
