I have an 87 3.8L Bird. I recently blew out the rear main (175,000 on that lil 3.8+getting a bad call about a death+already doing 80+leadfoot=disaster). I'm looking for a lil more pep in her step, but not sure the route i want to go. I'd love to go fuel injection on this...but im a fan of simplicity and do love the sound of 4 barrels opening up as i put the pedal to the floor. I'm also not sure if I want to go 5.0/302 or 351. Also, how much work would be necessary to put a 4.6L DOHC 32V from a 97 Cobra in an Aerobird? I've heard some people say its possible...and some say its not. Any input on any of the above would be greatly appreciated!

Twisted,I recently finished swapping a '93 5.0 mustang engine & 5 speed into my '88 Turbo-coupe,this car is FUN! Personal opinion,I wouldn't even think of a carbed 5.0(or any carbed motor) the injection's got so much potential. If you decide to go the same route, there's a lot of little(?) hang-ups I got through with some help and trial & error and if you wanna know them,I'll gladly help.If you wanna make some power and TORQUE you're on the right track!
