1983 T-Bird 2.3 L Turbo Coupe. Dark chocolate brown exterior (originally white) (repainted about 4 years ago); blackish/grey cloth interior; Michelin radial tires (in good shape); electric door locks; electric outside rearview mirrors; recently passed California smog tests. My sister was the original owner; I have had it since about 1992. Until I bought an SUV last week, I drove it virtually every day (it was my only car). I think it runs and looks great. It has been a GREAT car, and I really want to sell it to someone who will appreciate it – 1983 was the first year of the T-Bird 2.3 L Turbo Coupe. Asking $1,500 AS IS in Los Angeles.
The following is a list of the problems with the car that I know of and can remember – this is NOT a warranty and you must NOT consider it to be a complete list, etc. As noted above, I am selling the car AS IS.
1. parking brake peddle is stuck in the "opened" / "released" position (so you have to park the car "in gear");
2. speedometer/odometer doesn't work (stopped working some 4 years ago at approximately 128,000 miles – I drive about 10,000 miles a year so I "guesstimate" that the car has a about 168,000 miles on it);
3. air conditioning does not work (it stopped working in July 2002);
4. water pump leaks (just started about 3 weeks ago);
5. lock on the outside of driver's side door does not work (door key won't turn);
6. driver's side outside rearview mirror needs painting (I recently replaced it);
7. a little body rust;
8. trunk leaks (I think it is leaking from the seal around the rear window — so resealing the rear window might fix the problem, but NOT sure);
9. windshield washer won't hold water (I don't know whether the water/cleaner holding tank leaks or a lose is lose or broke ...);
10. inside door handle on the passenger side door is loose;
11. female end on one of the rear seatbelts is missing (I used it to replace the female end on the driver's seat);
12. cloth covers on the sun visors are falling off and need replacing; and
13. push buttons on the radio/cassette player don't work (you have to change channels by turning the knob).
