Hi, just got a 1965, 10 year-old restoration. Since you can steal this car with simple hand-tools, and there is no hood lock, are there any anti-theft options? Perhaps a keyed switch that can be mounted under-hood, something to make things harder? Not that I plan to leave this in a high-crime area, but if there is something simple I can use it would be helpful.

I know I'm a couple years late to the party but I've devised an anti-theft system for my 64 and am in the process of installing it. It consists of two latching relays, one to cut power from the battery to the starter solenoid, and one to cut power to the ignition coil. I won't describe it all right here and now as you might not see this anyway, but if you or someone else is interested let me know and I'll go into more detail. If they want my Thunderbird they have to tow or trailer it.
