what do flowmasters sound like on a stock 88tc with no cat? anybody have a recording of what it sounds like?

glass pack is good idea...if you want your tbird to be that loud, then by all means..

flow pros are generic flowmasters...buy youd be better off using a turbo muffler of some sort...turbo cars do not need much back pressure like a naturally aspirated car does... the less, the better...flowpros and flowmasters sound good but youd get better performance from a turbo muffler...plus...

if you dont have emissions, go with no cat...but if you do...id use the dynomax converter...there pretty good, so ive heard...no emissions here

what weird coincidence...i used to love in clemmons...we moved from there to lewisville...i really miss NC...nice place...unfortunately we moved back here to columbia, but now ive got my girlfriend to make things better (when she gets back from school in pensacola FL, will be much happier )

are you dumping the clutch? if so, thats where your problem is...2300 rpms is too low for a clutch dump...full boost doesnt come in until about 2500 rpms if i remember correctly...next time, ease the clutch out and as soon as you here the turbo start to spool, let it out all the way and listen...

i sold that tbird back in april...got an 88 turbocoupe in place...now that tbird is gone also...(tranny died)

mine averaged 18 city 21-24 highway...but that was driver related on a good day i could get 19-20 city and sometimes if i was lucky, i got 25-26 on the highway

i wouldnt buy it...mostly because its just a 3.8 v6, but also the fact that ford recalled all 94 and 95 3.8 v6s' because of head gaskets failing...just my thought on the matter

or.....you can do what i did... i pulled the headlight cover (very CAREFULLY) off of the casing and dried out the inside...i also cleaned and polished the inside using plastic cleaner and polish...then i cleaned and polished the outside..if you want to...you can use a very high grit sand paper...

the fastest i had my 88 was 4600 rpms in 5th gear chasing after a friend who was racing a 2000 trans-am 6spd in his 99 cobra..i had the car completely stock at that time...needless to say the TA lost..

almost all basic books (haynes especially) has all tbirds 89-97 in it..thats mostly in part to the fact that they are all the same chassis..the mn12 chassis..its most noted feature is the change to IRS in place of the solid axle, not to mention noticeable body changes..

i used to own a 94 lx 4.6L...not too bad of a car, i really enjoyed, i had to get out of debt and the only way was to sell the bird...i got an 88 turbocoupe tbird in place of it..it lasted all of 3 1/2 months before the transmission popped...i decided to just get a 2000 ranger while i look for...

after seeing specs on the new bird...id consider owning one...my dad works at the ford store here...hes in pretty good with the head guys there...thats good thing ive found out some interesting things lately..especially about what they might do to the ranger..(just leased a 2000 model ranger)
