Have a 76 with a bad window motor gear. Removed the armrest pad and all the screws but it is still attatched at the frt flat portion. Does anyone know what holds it on. I tried a bit but dont want to break it so figured I would ask first. Thanks

    Need some help

Have a 65 bird which did something very unusual yesterday. The car stays in the garage most of the time but yesterday I backed it out to get to another car and noticed some tranny fluid on the floor. Looked under the car and saw it dripping so popped the hood to see where from. It looks as...

    Back up lights ?

Well I ended up replacing the lower column bushing. What an exceptionally exciting job. All is well again but I looked at the other 4 65 Birds here and only one still has the bushing intact and as luck would have it, its the parts car.

    Starting problems

Neil. did you ever get the car going. Another one of ours did the same as yours today, it had sat all winter. Anyway gave the starter relay a coaxing tap and it was cured. I will replace the solenoid in the am.

    Back up lights ?

Have a 65 bird and seems after the past winter it now wants to act up when putting in reverse. I have back up lights if I adjust the position of the shift handle when in reverse but some times they are not on. I live in a state that req's inspection yearly so short of getting lucky the day I get...

    Starting problems

Your correct with the relay for 65 as well, on the firewall is the window relay. I still would be checking your starter relay(solenoid). I would bet that cures your issue. Try a known good one though as I have done the "had one in the garage" deal as well and usually the reason I have one is...

    WTB: 87-88 Turbocoupe wheels

Go on www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/index.php It is a site for those fox body birds and cougars. Put it in the wanted section as there are many knowledgable guys on there who can help you find some. There is also a site for just Turbo coupes but I am not certain of the web site.

    Trunk Seal

Have it meet at the trunck latch. The ones I have done I used 3m adhesive and would glue about 6-8 inches at a time. I never trimmed the excess where the ends come together untill the very end since after fitting it in the trough I didnt want to get to the end and find out I was a hair short...

    Trunk Seal

Yes its glued, yes its tight, and yes its thick. Makes sure you get all of the old one out and it will fit down into the track. Fit it then go back and glue it a bit at a time. remember the old one was 42 years old and so this will seem much thicker.

    In search of....

Just read the rest of your question and although you dont have the owners badge it really wouldnt tell you much. The 4500 #'s were not assigned in relation to production build dates(i think I might have an extra one in my shop). From what I have found it was far from an exact science. Marti Auto...

    In search of....

SMS auto upholstry makes the correct parchment color. Its a bit expensive. I think 500-600 for a cut piece with the correct 2 seams. We have a bunch of Special Landaus here and put tops on 2 of them this past year. One I did in my driveway

    56 TBird Sale advice needed

Do you have any pics of the car? I am wanting to get a baby bird but to be honest with you 5-7k seems low. I would get a old cars price guide, its a monthly magazine, and see what it says. It lists cars on a 1-5 scale and will atleast give you a ball park idea what it is worth.
