L L lhachat Aug 26, 2018 t-bird-art. I read about using transmission fluid to remove carbon build up from the rings in order to hopefully stop engine smoking. After I use the transmission fluid and the engine stops smoking, fingers crossed, do I need to do an oil change? Thanks, Leon
