Red face newbie looking for torqthrust specs

hey guys,

don't bash me too bad, this question has probably been ask before. i've got a 61' bird and i see alot of ya'll are running torq thrust wheels. i really like the looks of them. my question is what back spacing to use on a 17x8 wheel(front and back). also i would like to keep the skirts. are the mustang wheels the right back spacing?

thanks,
steve

Hi Bubba, I don't have Torque Thrust but I did put American Racing Salt Flat Specials on my little bird a couple yrs ago.
If your car is driveable condition you could take it to some place like Discount tire (that's where I got mine) and they will do all the measuring for you for the right offset and guarantee them to fit, if it's under construction I'd go down and ask them if they would show you where you need to measure or go to AR web site and try this
American Racing: Official Manufacturer Website- custom, chrome, polished and painted wheels

on that link I posted, click there, click 1961, click ford, click Thunderbird, then scroll down to Vintage Custon Torque Thrust II, looks like the only available 17" Torque Thrust II wheel available a 17x7 polished 5x114.3 offset =-5mm or 17x7 polished 5x114.4 offset= 14mm
