1973 Thunderbird
In 1978 my grandfather wanted to trade in his 73 Bird on a new Corvette. The chevy dealer basically low balled him on the trade in of a 5 year old Bird in mint shape with 17,000 miles. They offered him $1000 trade in. I was standing right there, 22 years old, and he told them to go screw themselves, he would give it to me! Cost to me.............nothing! Still have the car, now at 39,000 miles, 429 glamor paint Fire Gold. No air, which is OK with me as it would be a problem by now..............at that time I also had a 64 Bird my grandfather had bought new, only then my father had used it, and then me and it was up to around 180,000 miles of NY salt and winter.............still have most of the good parts to it
