Welcome to the forum and thanks for joining.

Sounds good, it is a pain to fix mechanical problems but i would much rather have to get that repaired than the frame of a car.

We have alot of members that have TC's on this forum already. I think you car will be great once they finish telling you the right stuff to buy for the car.

Thumbs up

I missed an opportunity to buy an 87 5 spd TC with dented fenders and rust but otherwise was in perfect mechanical shape for $500 because the owner decided to sell to someone who didn't "waste" his time wondering about registration and title...this was 2 months ago. Oh well, it had red leather. Yuck.

My 88 TC was $2000 cash in August of 1998. It is the Metallic Grey with dark blue interior...partially loaded but no sunroof, leather, or lights package. It had 113K miles and needed initially a clutch. The car was garaged its whole life and looked nearly perfect for a 10 year old car. A friend who was a Ford mechanic inspected it for me before I purchased. Including over 1k in stereo and some small cosmetic stuff, my total investment to date (including all maintenance)and new tires is around $5000...I've only bought Motor Sport or equivalent parts. I had the front bumper repainted and replaced the head lamp assemblies. Like most others the TPS just went bad but that was replaced. The car now has 140K miles. This car was 1 of 2 TCs at Fabulous Fords Forever at Knott's Berry Farm last April. If anyone was there it was parked next to the Super Coupe with the 17 inch Cobra Rims from Nevada. Future plans include chroming or having the rims polished and having a newly aquired dent removed.
