96 won't shift out of park
Ok I have a 96 Thunderbird (V8). When I got the car it was still pretty cool outside and I had no problems with the car at all. Ever since the heat of summer has come along I have a really hard time getting the car to shift out of Park. Once I manage to get it (it works every time, but sometimes may take up to 15 minutes!!!) it shifts perfectly into every gear. I'm assuming it's the button on the shifter. Now at night time, or on days when it's cool I have no problems. I've found that leaving the car's A/C cool the interior down works before I shift. I shouldn't have to do this though. Has anyone had this problem with this car? Is it an easy fix?
