Question 2nd gear gone in Auto 95 V8?

Dont know jack about automatics  but story goes. Transmision was working flawlessly one day, drove home got some sleep... Woke up the next morning and the car WILL not shift into second (Cold or Hot) Just stays in first till about 30mph and just slams into 3rd and then overdrive..

Although I can manually put it in second but it almost dry revs with little acceleration, there are no absurd noises, vacuum or whatever. and I rely on this car to tote the Family around and crap.. Found a tranny with 30k miles on it for $850 minus core, made another post about the possibility of mating a T-5 or what they used in the SC's (Considering the SC's have an optional 5spd)

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-Mike

Its most likely that valve cylinder a fairly common problem<>> there is an article on what to look for if you are looking for a new tranny Hope this helps a little.

Did it start shifting into 2nd a little firmer or harder than normal before 2nd went out?
