Want-a-be bird owner w/ ?s
Hi all,
Just found this board and was thinking I could get some help out there. I'm looking into buying a used, inexpensive T-bird with a 4.6 V8 (94-97) I've heard bad things about the 94 tranny, but nothing else about any of them. I'm currently looking into a 97 with 135K for sale. Are there any major problems that the 97's (or any others) had??? What about the mileage. I've found 94's with 75K to 128K, 95's with 85K and two 97's 100K and 135K. The later one looked nice from a walk around, but the dealership was closed. (I did talk to the previous owner and have good feelings about it) Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jeff

96&97 have a plastic intake manifold which cracks and throws coolant everywhere. It is a recall, but Ford won't fix it until it actually breaks.
