Talking hello T-Bird forum, newbie here

Well I would first like to say hello to everyone. Right now, I have a 5.0 Mustang. But gas and insurance costs are a big issue for me, and my parents. I'm only 17. Anyway, we have found a 1994 ThunderBird LX. It has 77,000 miles, and a four-speed automatic. How many miles can these cars usually go? I'm going to get a vehicle history report done on it, and if it's clean, and we can sell my Mustang, we will more than likely get the ThunderBird. The question is, should I? What kind of mileage would I most likely get? Right now I get 14-17 on my Mustang. Since I will be losing only 1.2 liters, I think the jump in mileage will be little, which I hope is not the case. I'm hoping to get 20+. Anything 20 and above would be great. I do alot of mixed driving. Well, I don't want to ask to many questions, so I'll stop here. I have a friend who has a ThunderBird similair to mine, so he's helping me out. Of course, he dosen't keep his fuel mileage record. I'll need that from one of you guys. Thanks for your help.

93hb,
Welcome to the forum. I have a 94, on the freeway I avg about 22-26. Depending on the heaviness of my lead foot. In towan, its usually about 16-18. Again, leadfoot applies. There are alot of members here who have 150K plus on the T-birds. Hope this helps...

i have a `94 lx :D that i love. she gets 23-26 mpg on the freeway at about 60-70 mph. in town 15- 18 at an average speed of 40 mph. i'm new too. i hope i've helped you out.
oh. the motors will last a long time. the better you treat it the better it will treat you in return. i have 185k and counting. also, if you get exhaust and intake work done it will increase your power and gas mileage. so if you are interested in exhaust i can help you out as i'm sure would others here. good luck with your new `bird. :D
